Gymnastics South Africa today announced the appointment of Johann Meintjes as the new Para-Gymnastics Coordinator, effective January 2025. Johann will serve in this role for the next six months, focusing on coordinating Gymnastics SA's efforts to further develop its inclusion of athletes with a disability into the sport of gymnastics.
Congratulations to the following South African TRA gymnasts, coaches, and judge, who will represent Team SA at the 18th African Trampoline Championships from 10 to 11 May in Bizerte, Tunisia.

It is with deep sadness that Gymnastics South Africa learnt of the passing of its former President and Life Member, Jerry Masia, over the Easter Weekend.
Jerry Masia became involved in gymnastics in 1976. As a young 21-year-old teacher, he approached Gwen De Jong, Administrative Director of the then South African Amateur Gymnastics Union (SAAGU) and Elizabeth Cameron-Smith, Technical Director of SAAGU, as he wanted to introduce gymnastics to the children of Mamelodi. The upcoming 2023 National School Sport Championships are set to take place between 9 and 12 December in Johannesburg.Organised jointly by the Department of Sport, Arts & Culture and the Department of Basic Education, the event will consist of nine different sporting codes from various National Federations, with Gymnastics South Africa being a part of this annual event.
